Staff


Vicki Greger is the Director of Spokane Child Development Center.  She has worked at the Center for 15 years.  She started as a classroom teacher and worked her way up to director.  She was the director for 5 years under the previous owner and purchased the business in 2007.  Vicki has her BAE in Elementary Education and has taken numerous trainings in the area of child development.  She is extremely active in the early-childhood community and has worked hard to make sure that SCDC is at the top of the heap in the area of quality care.  Vicki’s favorite part about the center is the fact that we have the ability to positively impact the lives of so many children and families.

 

 

 

 

Angel Smith is the Challenger teacher. She has been at SCDC for 3 years. She has completed the preschool CDA(Child Development Associate) program and has years of experience teaching children having raised 2 kids; a sophomore in High School and a Kindergartener. Her favorite thing about the Challenger room is teaching them to be independent and they are very cute!

 

 

 

 

 

Berna Cristobal is the All Star’s after-school teacher.  Berna has her BA is Sociology and is in the process of completing her Elementary Education Certification through Gonzaga University.  Berna has several years of experience working with school-aged children.  She has worked in in Kindergarten, First, Third, and Fourth Grade classrooms.  Her favorite thing about teaching this age group is that ” the kids have the best stories about how their day went and it makes me feel like a kid again.”   Berna is originally from Guam, but is full Filipino and English is her second language.  Tagalog is her first.  She is the oldest of four children and loves to cook and try new recipes.

Amy J. Ellis is the Assistant Director/Lead Teacher in the Pathfinder room at SCDC. She has her AAS in early childhood education and special education. Amy has been at SCDC for 15 years and has a total of 18 years experience working with children including raising two children of her own, both of whom are grown. Amy’s favorite part about working with the Pathfinder room is she enjoys creating a positive environment while being able to watch the growth of the children and supporting their individual needs. Amy enjoys being the assistant director at SCDC because she is able to develop bonds and friendships with all the children in the center and their families.

 

 

 

 

 Samantha (Sammi) McPhedran is the mid-day Explorer teacher. She has completed the Infant/Toddler CDA( Child Development Associate) program and has been working at SCDC for 6 years. Sammi enjoys working in the Explorer room. She is able to watch the kids explore and learn something new everyday. Sammi has a lot of experience with children including raising two young children with her husband.

 

 

 

 

 

Yvette Kramer is the opener at SCDC and works in the Explorer classroom. She has completed the Infant/Toddler CDA (Child Development Associate) program. She has worked in the Explorer classroom at SCDC for 15 years and has 18 years of childcare experience. Yvette enjoys working in the Explorer classroom because she can learn from them and everyday is a new experience. Yvette enjoys her family and has 2 step-children. Her experience with children is continuing to grow as her and her husband become grandparents.

 

 

 

 

Christina (Tina) Nelson is the assistant teacher at SCDC. She joined SCDC staff a year ago and enjoys being able to work with all the classrooms in the center. Tina has 10 years of childcare experience. She enjoys watching the children accomplish things they’ve never done before, and Tina also likes to watch the joy on the children’s faces when they learn new things. Tina’s childcare experience has extended to her family with 3 siblings and 11 nieces and nephews whom she helps raise.

 

 

 

 

 

Teresa Sorci is the Hip Huggers teacher. Teresa has her AAS degree in Early Childhood Education and has 12 years of experience working in childcare; she has been at SCDC for 3 years. Teresa enjoys working in the Hip Huggers room because she is able to create an attachment with the babies and their parents. Teresa enjoys relaxing and quiet time when she not at work by doing wolf puzzles.

 

 

 

 

 

Angela King is the morning All Star teacher. Angela has completed the Preschool CDA (Child Development Associate) program and has worked at SCDC for 18 years. She has 21 years of childcare experience. Angela’s favorite part about working with the All Star class is she is able to teach advanced games and their independence makes them a fun group to work and play with. Angela spends her time outside of SCDC with her husband.

 

Tiffany Frazier

Tiffany Frazier is the cook at SCDC. She has over three years of experience working with children. She also has experience working for a degree at Spokane Community College as a pastry chef. Tiffany’s favorite part about the kitchen at SCDC is using fresh ingredients. She enjoys knowing she is feeding the children nutritious food and watching them devour every last bite. She enjoys visiting all the classrooms and brining yummy snacks and lunch to all the kids. Karen has experience cooking for children. They keep her busy with baseball, football, basketball, and dance!
She enjoys boating, shopping, and baking.
